Aramits

Aramits is the birthplace of the Musketeer Henri d’Aramitz, lay abbot of the parish, popularised by Alexandre Dumas under the name Aramis. The sole trace of him is the great entrance door to his lay abbey next to the church of Saint Vincent.

The famous “Fête des Bergers” (“Shepherds’ Fair”), which is held every year in the month of September, enables all generations to gather together, filled with a common love of the village, a common passion for the agricultural profession and a common desire to share the ways and customs of this authentic valley.
